The Federation had organized workshop for the students of Sathye College, Mumbai on February 17, 2022 on the subjects – Importance of Urban Co-operative Banking Sector. The object of the training programme was to bring awareness about the role of UCBs in the Financial Inclusion scheme of the Central Government and National Economy.
Shri Shantaram Padhye, Banking Expert imparted training to the students on subjects such as Entire Banking Sector in India, Structure of Co-operative Banks, History of Co-operative Banks, Objectives & Principles of Co-operation, What is Co-operative Banking?, Control and Regulations, Important sections of various acts such as Banking Regulation Act 1949, The MCS Act 1960, Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 etc., Various Committees that were formed for the welfare of UCBs, RBI’s role as Regulator – Supervision, Functions of Co-operative Banks, Kinds of Deposits, Operational Instructions, Types of Advances, Loans, Cash Credit, Bills Purchased/Discounted, Non fund based Advances, Process of sanctioning loans and advances, Advantages of Co-operative banks and finally Significance of Co-operatives in India.
